Robert "Bob" Amon Wellmon

Robert "Bob" Amon Wellmon, 90, of Meadville, passed away Thursday, April 3, 2025 at Wesbury.

Bob was born in Meadville, on January 9, 1935, a son of the late Harvey E. and Beatrice (Cornelius) Wellmon.

On September 14, 1954 Bob married Lois Best; she preceded him in death on May 25, 2020.

He was a member of Denny Chapel, Meadville.

Over the years Bob had been employed in the lab for the former Avtex Fibers, Free Col Laboratories, and as a salesman for Fiesta Pools. He enjoyed playing cards with his friends, working in his garden and tending to his flowers. Bob loved being with his family and especially delighted in attending the school and sporting events of his children and grandchildren. In his earlier years he enjoyed playing softball, coaching youth baseball, and serving as a Scout Master for the Boy Scouts. He will be remembered as a hard worker, a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. He will be sadly missed

Bob is survived by a daughter Diane Gigone of Meadville; two sons Keith Wellmon (Nancy) of Meadville, Kevin Wellmon (Barb) of Lake Okeechobee, FL; a daughter in law Brenda Wellmon of Fort Worth, TX; seven grandchildren Krista Gigone (Dr. Eric Shang), Kendra Fischer (Sam), Michael Wellmon (fiance Elyse Ferraro), Kelsey Wellmon (Patrick Veri), Katie Wellmon, Matthew King, Lareina Burrows; six great grandchildren Theodore Shang, Frederick Shang, Henry Fischer, Eva Fischer, Charlotte Veri, Mila Veri; many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, Lois, of 65 years, Bob was preceded in death by a son David Wellmon; son in law Rodney Gigone; brother Harvey "Junior" Wellmon (Mildred); and sister Mary Beish (Jack).

Family and friends are invited to call from 3-5 PM on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE, where services will follow at 5 PM.

Bob will be laid to rest with his wife, Lois, in Greendale Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice of Crawford County as well as the staff at Wesbury, for the wonderful care they provided.
