Robert C. Eddy

Robert Charles Eddy, 90,of 26617 State Hwy. 27, Guys Mills, passed away Friday, November 24, 2017, at AristaCare at Park Avenue, Meadville.

Robert was born in East Mead Twp., on February 21, 1927, the son of the late Leo and Emma (Siple) Eddy.

He was a lifetime member of St. Hippolyte Roman Catholic Church, Guys Mills.

In 1988 Robert retired from Conrail Railroad after 27 years of service. He attended the former Wayland School and Meadville Schools. He served his country as a Merchant Marine during WW II for five years and for 25 months served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. A lifetime member of the Black Ash Sportsman Club, he was also a member of the NRA. His hobbies included collecting stamps, playing BINGO, hunting, fishing, his weekly trips to the casino and traveling throughout the US, including Alaska, in his camper.

Robert is survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Robert was preceded in death by four brothers Vincent "Bud", Terrance "Terry", David Keith and William "Bill" Eddy, two sisters Jacqueline Kohler and Geraldine (Gerry) Shank.

Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, from 3-7 PM at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 Chestnut Street, Meadville where a scripture service will be conducted at 6:45 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 29, 2017, at St. Hippolyte Roman Catholic Church, Guys Mills, with Fr. Daniel Prez, Pastor, officiating.

Charles will be laid to rest in St. Hippolyte Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
