Robert Fell Kent, age 86, of Conneautville, passed away on April 8, 2025, in Conneautville.
He was born in Meadville on August 30, 1938, to former Pennsylvania State Treasurer Robert Free Kent and his wife, Martha Fell.
Robert graduated Meadville Area High School in 1956 and the University of Colorado in 1960.
Among other jobs, Robert spent time as an accountant, a mechanic, a California surfer, an ambulance driver, and “Giuseppe Mutinelli,” an Italian chef. He found his calling as a teacher of psychology, sociology, geography, and history at Saegertown High School, where he taught for 25 years and retired in 2000. Robert was a member of the Conneautville Borough Council and Planning Commission, the Meadville Elks Lodge, the Pennsylvania State Education Association (PSEA), the Penton Owners Club, the Ontario BSA Owners Club, the Crawford County Road Riders, a member and former President of the Ohio Valley BSA Owners Club, and a longtime card-carrying member of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU). He was an avid motorcycle rider and restorer, a master storyteller, and everyone’s first round pick for their Trivial Pursuit team.
Robert married Anne “Corky” Stewart on November 13, 1965, calling it “the best thing I ever did.” Robert and Corky were married nearly 60 years, during which time they supported each others’ careers, raised a family, traveled the country, became RVers and eventual snowbirds, and made each other laugh.
Robert is survived by his wife, Corky; daughters Marian Kent of Northampton, Massachusetts, and Jennifer Kent Seiderer of Weatogue, Connecticut; sons-in-law Aaron Meuse and Gregg Seiderer; and grandchildren Vivian and Anne Meuse and Eli and Jude Seiderer.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents as well as his brother, Richard Clare Kent.
An informal celebration of life will be held at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE, on Sunday, April 13, 2025, from 2-4 PM.
