Rolland Edward Muma, 89, passed away at Wesbury Retirement Center on September 7, 2019.
Rolland was born August 16, 1930, in Arlington, WA the son of Rolland Holiway and Eleanora
Cummings Muma.
In addition to his parents, Rolland was preceded in death by Eva Srbinovich Muma, his wife of 62 years to whom he was devoted and who died July 13, 2012. He was also preceded in death by his brother James Ezra Muma.
He is survived by four daughters Patricia Crist and her husband Ronald of McKean, PA, Carolyn Bennett and her husband Robert of Shrewsbury, NJ, Eva Ketcham of Saegertown and Kathryn
Muma of Conneaut Lake. He is also survived by four grandchildren: Bruce Ketcham and his wife
Miranda of Evergreen, NC, Steven Crist and his wife Kristy of Huntersville, NC, Ann Trask and her husband Les of McKean, PA, and David Crist and his wife Katie of Watertown, MA and six great grandchildren Zoeymarie, Zander and Katie Ketcham, Ryan and Kelsey Crist and Corinne Trask. He is also survived by Ann Trbovich, his sister-in-law and Eva’s twin sister and his very dear friend Neva Smith.
Rolland attended elementary and high schools in western Pennsylvania and attended Allegheny College. He was a member of the army during the Korean War, but due to family circumstances was honorably discharged. He grew up on several farms and he and Eva owned a “farmette” in Saegertown where they raised their own produce and had a variety of animals. Rolland was a hardworking man who always had at least one job every day of his working life, retiring from PPG in 1992. He was a lifelong learner and had a variety of interests including welding, flower gardening and working with computers and he and Eva enjoyed traveling. He was raised in the church attending tent revivals as a young child and most recently at the Edinboro United Methodist and services at Barco Chapel on the Wesbury campus. He was a man who had a strong moral compass and did what was right. His family, friends and neighbors could count on him for advice and help, no matter what the circumstance.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Graveside Service at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, 17045 Conneaut Lake Road, Meadville with Rev. Lisa Grant officiating. Full Military Honors by VFW Post #2006 will follow.
Family and friends are also invited to attend a Celebration of Life Service at 11:30 AM on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at McCracken Chapel of Wesbury, 31 N. Park Ave., Meadville, with Chaplain Sam Marchetta officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Edinboro United Methodist Church, 113 High Street, Edinboro, PA 16412.
