Rose (Costa) Page

Rose (Costa) Page, 94, of Meadville, passed away Friday, April 9, 2021 at her home.

Rose was born in Branchton, on November 19, 1926, a daughter of the late Gaetano "Guy" and Elizabeth (Marcello)  Costa.

On October 1, 1949 Rose married John A. Page; he preceded her in death on November 5, 1976.

She was a member of St. Mary of Grace Roman Catholic Church and a former member of the church's Altar Rosary Society. 

With her husband John, Rose owned and operated the former Baskin Robbins Ice Cream Store in Meadville from October 1968 until she sold the business and retired in early 1995.  Prior to Baskin Robbins she worked as a hairdresser and operated a salon out of her home on Thurston Road while raising her children.  Rose will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt. She was happiest while holding court in her kitchen, cooking, entertaining and feeding all who came to visit.  Rose's greatest enjoyment came from being with family and friends, exchanging stories and laughing.  She will be missed by all.

Rose is survived by four sons Timothy Page of Meadville, Howard Page (Linda) of Muncy, Silas Page (Becky) Springboro, OH, John Page (Jane) of Centerville, two daughters Linda Page (Jim Coward) of Old Lyme, CT, Christine Cassell (Bernie) of Niantic, CT, daughter-in-law Francie Page of Sharon, 13 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husband John Alden Page of 27 years, Rose was preceded in death by a son Clifford Page,  three sisters Mary Ann "Annie" Marendo, Josephine Costa, Jennie Costa, four brothers Andy, Frank, Ralph and Tom Costa.

Family and friends are invited to call from 3 to 6 PM on Friday, April 16th at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC. 404 CHESTNUT ST, MEADVILLE, where a scripture service will take place at 5:30 PM.  CDC guidelines will be followed.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Saturday, April 17th at St. Mary of Grace Roman Catholic Church, 1085 Water Street, Meadville, with Fr. Jeffrey Lucas, Pastor, officiating.

Rose will be laid to rest in St. Brigid Cemetery.
