Rose Fahlen Sechler, 83, of 655 William St., Meadville, died Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at Homestead Hearth Personal Care Home, Centerville.
Born in Pittsburgh on October 9, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Martha Ertman Fehlan. She married Wayne A. Sechler on July 3, 1965; he preceded her in death on October 19, 1982.
She was a member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ where she had been a church deaconess and Rose also attended St. Pauls United Church of Christ, both of Meadville. She was the owner of Muckinhaupts Decorating Shop until her retirement in 1982. Among her main interests were gardening and antiques.
Survivors include two sisters, Loretta Scott of Jamestown, Lillian Enyeart of Painesville, OH, two stepdaughters, Shirley Rice of Shippensburg, Donna Wiser of Conneaut, OH, three nephews Alfred Fahlen, Jr. of Albion, Kenneth Enyeart of Perry, OH, Thomas Enyeart of Painesville, OH, and one niece Kathleen Fahlen Stevens of Albion with whom she was especially close.
In addition to her parents and husband Wayne, she was preceded in death by a brother Alfred Fahlen, Sr.
Calling hours will be Sunday, November 21, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9 and also on Monday, November 22, 2010 from 10-11 at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut Street, Meadville, PA 16335 where the funeral will be held at 11:00 at with Dr. Paul Thomas officiating.
Interment will be in Venango Cemetery.
The family suggests memorials be made to ASERA Care Hospice, 1600 Peninsula Drive, Erie, PA 16505, Hospice of Crawford County, 464 Pine St., Meadville, PA 16335 or a charity of the donors choice.
