Rose K. Boyle, 85, of 20881 State Hwy. 198, Saegertown, formerly of 10392 Circle East, Meadville, passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at the Crawford County Care Center..
Rose was born in Cleveland, OH on February 5, 1928, a daughter of the late Louis J. and Helen G. (Bene) Kosan, Sr..
Rose married Donald F. Boyle; he survives.
In 1996 Rose retired after 11 years as office manager for Dr. Robert Bazylak. Dr. Bazylak was more than just her employer, he and his family were, and remained, very close and helpful to Rose over the years. She had previously been employed by Conneaut Lake Park, beginning in 1951 as secretary to the Park President and General Manager. After 34 years with Conneaut Lake Park, Rose retired in 1985 as Park Office Manager, Controller and Secretary of the Conneaut Lake Corp. During her high school years Rose worked at Keystone Meats and then the Park Theatre where she was their first usher and continued to work there until 1951. She was a 1945 graduate of the former St. Agatha Catholic School. Due to her expertise, knowledge and experience in bird watching and bird banding at the Erie Peninsula, Rose was well known in the bird watching community. She enjoyed all the time she spent bird watching especially with her close friend, Ronald Leberman and his parents Charlie and Mary Leberman, who were instrumental in getting her interested in birds.
Rose is survived by a son A. Patrick Boyle of Conneautville, two grandsons Brian Patrick Boyle, Adam Nicklaus Boyle, a brother Louis J. Kosan, Jr. and his wife Joy of Meadville, numerous nieces and nephews including Julie K. Overton with whom she was very close and who helped her over the years. Rose considered each member of her family as the love of her life and over the years she remained very close with the entire Boyle family. She was loved by all.
In addition to her parents, Rose was prceded in death by two brothers Joseph A. Heck and Andrew J. Kosan.
Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, May 31, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville, PA 16335 where a scripture service will be conducted at 4 PM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Saturday at St. Agatha Roman Catholic Church, 353 Pine St., Meadville, with Fr. Matthew Kujawinski, Pastor, officiating.
Interment will take place in St. Agatha Cemetery, West Mead Twp.
