Rose Mae Hunter

Rose Mae Hunter, 69, of 20316 Barton Rd,. Meadville, passed away Sunday, May 5th, 2013, at Meadville Medical Center.

Rose was born in Zebulon, GA on September 12, 1943, a daughter of the late John Henry and Lucy Mae (Phinazee) Lee.

On September 12, 1964, her 21st birthday, Rose married Donald E. Hunter; he survives.

She was an active member of St. John Missionary Full Gospel Baptist Church where, over the years, she served on the Usher Board, the Missionary Board, sang in the church choir and prepared church bulletins.

Rose enjoyed being a homemaker and raising her family. While doing so, she provided child care services for other families. In her earlier years she was employed by Heatrix and by the former Mead Nursing Home. She was a 1962 graduate of Meadville High School. Rose enjoyed cooking, reading her Bible, shopping, especially for cloths and shoes; but what she enjoyed most of all was spending time with her family.

In addition to her husband, Donald of 48 years, Rose is survived by four children Yvette N. Hunter, Richelle M. Hunter, Donald E. Hunter, Jr. and his wife Dawn, all of Meadville, Shawn L. Hunter and his wife Sarah E. of Richmond, VA, three grandchildren Elise V. Hunter, Alivia D. Hunter and Jeremiah B. Hunter.

In addition to her parents, Rose was preceded in death by a grandson, Stephen Hunter.

Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, May 10, 2013, from 10-11 at St. John Missionary Full Gospel Baptist Church, 792 N. Main St., Meadville, where a Going Home Service will be held at 11:00 AM with Bishop Stanley Smith, Pastor, officiating.

Interment will take place in Greendale Cemetery, West Mead Twp.
