Rosemary M. Bloss

Rosemary M. Bloss, 94, of 455 Chestnut Street, Meadville, formerly of Park Avenue Extension, Meadville and Winterhaven, FL, passed away Thursday, August 14, at Meadville Medical Center.

Rosemary was born in Uniontown on April 22, 1920, a daughter of the late Ernest and Margaret (Kelly) Layton.

On November 17, 1936 Rosemary married Roger W. Bloss; he preceded her in death on February 13, 2003.

She was a member of Christ Church Episcopal where she was also a member of the Hand Bell Choir and the Womens Altar Guild.

Following her graduation from Meadville High School and Cleveland Business College, Rosemary became employed as an administrative secretary for Harness and Emerson, Cleveland, OH. Following her marriage in 1936 she became a full time homemaker. She had a passion for gardening, especially roses. While living in Winterhaven, FL, she was a member of the Rose Society. Her other interests included reading and china painting.

Rosemary is survived by a son Jeffrey F. Bloss of St. Marys, two granddaughters Jessica Rubio and her husband Robert of Meadville, Jenna Bloss of Saegertown, two great granddaughters Genevieve and Maura Bloss.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Roger, of 66 years, Rosemary was preceded in death by a brother Francis Layton, a sister Margaret Lou Fernsell and a cousin Elenor Kelly Stewart.

Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday from 10-11 in the Walker Room of Christ Church Episcopal, 870 Diamond Square, Meadville, where a Memorial Service will be held in the Church Sanctuary at 11:00 AM, with Rev. Dr. Richard Elberfeld, Pastor, officiating.

Inurnment will take place in Christ Church Episcopal Columbarium.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Meadville Public Library, 848 N. Main Street, Meadville, PA 16335 or American Cancer Society, 320 Bilmar Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15205-4620.
