Ruth Jean Fox

Ruth Jean Fox, 85, of 13222 Faust Road, Conneaut Lake, passed away Wednesday, May 10th, 2017, at AristaCare at Park Avenue, Meadville.

Ruth was born in Coal Valley, on January 8, 1932, a daughter of the late Frederick and Martha (Aiken) Eells.

She was of the Protestant faith and proclaimed God had healed her several times.

Ruth worked as a waitress as well as a cook at several local restaurants. She took great pride in the soups she prepared where she last worked, Friar Tucks. Over the years she worked at the former Texas Lunch, the former Byhams, the former Cozy Corner where she was part owner, the former LaBruzzo's Port-a-call and the former Dantes. Ruth was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt. She loved her cats, being around children, bird watching, flowers, reading, working puzzles, reminiscing with her long time neighbor and friend, Dan Karastury and especially spending time with her family. Ruth had a beautiful laugh and smile; she was always willing to listen if someone needed to talk.

Ruth is survived by a son James Fox of Utica, a daughter Karen S. Lipps of Conneaut Lake with whom she lived, three grandchildren Gaia Fox of Pittsburgh, Michael Lipps and his wife Jennifer of Harmonsburg, Stephen Lipps of Conneaut Lake, two great grandchildren Brian Lipps, Kaitlyn Lipps both of Harmonsburg, a brother Thomas Eells and his wife Carole of Mesa, AZ, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by two grandsons Jonathan Lipps, Storm Fox, a brother Robert Eells and a sister Marilou Cassidy.

As per her wishes, there will be no services. Please remember her as she was.

Ruth will be laid to rest in Evergreen Cemetery, Harmonsburg.

On behalf of the family, a special thanks to all those who helped her to be cared for at her home; Dr. Landefeld and several visits to Arista Care at Park Ave, formerly known as Park Ave. Rehab and Nursing, over the years. We are grateful for all the prayers that got her through some difficult spells.

Memorial contributions may be made to Summit Township Volunteer Fire Department and Ambulance Service, PO Box 51, Harmonsburg, PA 16422 or Norrisville United Methodist Church, 17923 N. Norrisville Rd., Conneautville, PA 16406.
