Shirley J. Osborne

Mrs. Shirley J. Osborne, 98, of Midland, TX, formerly of Meadville, passed away on Thursday, January 20, 2022.

Mrs. Osborne was born in Jamestown, on September 16, 1923, the daughter of the late Oakley E. and Hazel (McCurdy) Lamb.

On April 4, 1942 she married Donald F. Osborne; he preceded her in death on December 14, 2000.

While living in Meadville, she was a member of Grace United Methodist Church where she volunteered with the church women's organization.

Shirley retired from the Business Office of The Meadville Tribune in October 1986 after 30 years of service. She graduated in 1941 from Saegertown High School where she was a member of the Athletic Club. Her hobbies included playing bridge, making crafts, quilting, crocheting, golfing, working with her plants and flower garden and she enjoyed attending family gatherings.

Shirley is survived by a son Donald E. Osborne (Peggy Lepley Osborne) of Midland, TX; a son-in-law Joseph Luben of Saline, MI; four granddaughters Amy Luben Tobe, Heather Luben Stoll (David), Michelle Osborne, Jodi Osborne Darr (David); eight great-grandchildren Shelbie Darr, twins Chase and Chance Darr, and Shyan Darr, Lucas and Joseph Tobe, Mitchell & Hunter Stoll; a sister Betty Neely of Seneca; nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter Susan Osborne Luben in 2016; a grandson in law Eric Tobe; a sister Ruth Heald; two brothers Daniel and Oakley Lamb.

Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, January 28, 2022, from 2-5 PM at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC. 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE, where Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, with Rev. Rebecca Patterson, Pastor of Grace United Methodist Church, officiating.

Shirley will be laid to rest in Saegertown Cemetery.
