Shirley Ratchford

Shirley Ratchford of Meadville, passed away on her 73rd birthday, Wednesday, June 12, 2019, at UPMC-Hamot Medical Center, Erie.

Shirley was born in Franklin, on June 12, 1946, a daughter of the late David Verne and Rae (Berlin) Steele.

On April 15, 1966 Shirley married Michael D. Ratchford; he survives.

In her earlier years Shirley had been employed by various businesses including the former Talon of Meadville. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, attending craft shows and flea markets. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her children and grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Michael, of 53 years, Shirley is survived by a son Michael D. Ratchford, Jr. of Erie, four grandchildren Scott, Brent, Marlena, Michael, two great grandchildren Laken, Finley, two sisters Virginia Haylett of Utica, Marjorie Bosley of Laurel, MD, many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by an infant daughter Jenai Marie Ratchford.

Private services will be held at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME, 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE.

Shirley will be laid to rest in Greendale Cemetery.
