Susan A. Miller

Susan A. Miller, 67, of Meadville, passed away Thursday, January 20, 2022, at Magee Women’s Hospital in Pittsburgh following a courageous battle with cancer. Her family was by her side.

She was born on October 15, 1954 in Meadville, a daughter and third child of the late Bernard and Gretchen (Kinzleman) Woods.

She married Thomas F. Miller on August 25, 1996; he survives.

Susan was a graduate of Linesville High School and Edinboro University. She was an elementary librarian at Maplewood Elementary school and fifth and sixth grade teacher at Saegertown Elementary. She served the students in the Penncrest School District for 32 years.

Susan was a member of The Epiphany of the Lord Parish, St. Agatha Church, in Meadville. She loved golfing, shopping, family beach vacations, time with friends and especially being with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, mother and sister, Janice Bourbeau.

Survivors, in addition to her loving husband Tom, include two daughters Angela Barco-Anderson of Pittsburgh and her children Jack and Claire; Kristen Kassep (Mike) also of Pittsburgh and their children Luke and Leo; her brother Tom Woods (Anita) and their children Emily and Evan of Linesville; Janice Bourbeau's children Katie Hans (John) and their children Grace and Ella; Steve Eakin (Kaylin) and their daughter Kennedy; Tom’s children Natalie Serrano (Jose), Jeff Miller (Lindsey), all of Greenville, Kevan Miller (Jackie) of Gaithersburg, MD, and Nicole Eaton (Dave) of Oakdale. She is further survived by Tom’s grandchildren Elisa, Isabelle, Nora, Manny, Jude, Jonah, Ruby, Dean, Lacey, Maya, Allie, Mike, Brian and Giuliana.

Sue fought hard every day to stay alive and she will be deeply missed. She was a loving wife, cherished mother and adored grandma and nana.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at The Epiphany of the Lord Parish, St. Agatha Church, 353 Pine St., Meadville, with Fr. Jeff Lucas, Pastor, officiating. A luncheon will follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Yolanda Barco Oncology Institute, 16792 Conneaut Lake Road, Meadville PA 16335.
