Thelma T. Wolfe

Thelma T. Wolfe, 88, of 903 Annesly Circle Meadville, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2015, at Meadville Medical Center.

Thelma was born in Saegertown, on May 12, 1926, a daughter of the late Louis and Rosa (Black) Taylor.

On January 23, 1971, Thelma married Richard A. Wolfe; he preceded her in death on December 9, 1985.

After 27 years of service, Thelma retired on December 31, 1974, from the Purchasing Department of the former Talon, Inc. of Meadville. She was a 1946 graduate of Meadville High School. An active member of St. Paul's Reformed Church, Meadville, Thelma took great pleasure in being a benefactor to the church for many years. While living in Sarasota, Florida, she was a member of St. Andrew United Church of Christ as well as the Golf Gate Club. She enjoyed traveling internationally as well as domestically with her sister, Jerry, taking trips in their RV, taking cruises and golfing. She enjoyed her Saturday morning breakfasts with her family and close friends at the Downtown Mall Bistro. Thelma was very proud of the endowment she established at Edinboro University in the fall of 2014 as she felt strongly about the importance and value of education in today's young people. Thelma will be remembered as a very generous and giving person who helped family and friends in a very quiet manner.

Thelma is survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Richard of 13 years, Thelma was preceded in death by two sisters Ruth Young and Jerry Shryock.

Family and friends are invited to call from 2-4 and 6-8 on Wednesday, January 28, 2015, at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville, where Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, with Rev. David P. McAfee, Pastor of St. Paul's Reformed Church, Meadville, officiating.

Thelma will be laid to rest next to her husband, Richard, in Greendale Cemetery, West Mead Twp.
