Thomas Lee Brunot

Thomas Lee Brunot AKA “Poppy”, 62, of Saegertown, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2019 at home following a courageous battle with cancer.

Tom was born in Meadville on April 16, 1956, a son of Robert and Louise (DeMaison) Brunot.

Tom is survived by his wife Beth Darcangelo whom he wed on November 11, 1978. In addition to his wife of 40 years, he is survived by his daughter Sadie Brunot of Erie, a grandson Jacob Thomas Sutter, three brothers James Brunot (Cindy) of Clarkdale, AZ, William K. Brunot (Sally) of Winchester, VA, John Brunot (Susan) of Agua Dulce, CA, 15 nieces and nephews as well as many great nieces and nephews whom he all loved dearly.

Tom was a graduate of Saegertown High School, and was a natural athlete that played football, basketball and baseball. Tom was truly a jack of all trades, and upon finishing high school went on to travel the country as an international consultant, working in industries of Humana Hospital, the boating industry, Hughes Aircraft, etc. He then became self-employed as a finish carpenter when his daughter Sadie was born, which became his most precious job of all, that of being a father.

As Tom’s love of sports continued beyond his high school career, he then became a dedicated coach/volunteer for Saegertown Girls Little League and High School Softball. He then in the early 2000’s began an annual Father’s Day tournament to support both little league and high school softball that continues today.

In addition to his love for coaching, he loved hunting with his best friend Joseph “Bud” Wood, and golfing with his Uncle Dave at Venango Valley. Nothing brought more joy to Tom than spending time with Sadie and Jacob, they were the light of his life and he will be dearly missed.

A Funeral Service will be held 3:00 PM on Sunday, March 24, 2019 at St. Bernadette's Roman Catholic Church, Renner Ave, Saegertown, with Fr. Philip Pinczewski of Blessed Sacrament, Erie, officiating. Following the funeral service, a Celebration of Life Service will be held at 4:30 PM at Venango Valley Inn, 21217 Church St./US-19, Venango. All are invited to attend.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Crawford County 766 Liberty St. Meadville, PA 16335.
