Vickie Cocolin Evans

Vickie Cocolin Evans, 65, of Snellville, GA, formally of Meadville, passed away Friday, October 4, 2013.

She is survived by husband, Greg William Evans; son, Gregor John Evans and wife Cathy Evans; daughter Ashley E. Evans of State College, PA; Erin C. Evans, of Snellville, GA and grandson Alexander G. Evans. She is also survived by brother, John Cocolin, State College, sister, Carla Cocolin Chisholm, brother-in-law, Bill Chisholm, Meadville, and several nieces and nephews.

Vickie was a 1966 graduate of Meadville Area Senior High School, 1970 graduate of Baldwin-Wallace College, Berea, OH, and she was a member of Alpha Phi International Sorority. Vickie taught Language Arts at Fredrick Douglas High School, Atlanta, GA. Vickie loved to golf, play cards, cook and spend time with family and friends poolside. She volunteered at Sunrise Senior Living giving cooking lessons for six years.

A Gathering of Remembrance will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2013, from 2-4 pm at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville, where a service will be conducted at 4 pm with Fr. Marc Solomon officiating.

The interment will follow immediately at St. Agatha Cemetery, West Mead Twp.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 320 Bilmar Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15205-4620.
