Victor (Vic) T. Zahradnik

Mr. Victor (Vic) T. Zahradnik, 99 years old, formerly of Meadville, Pennsylvania, passed away recently in Florida.
Vic was born in 1911, the son of the late John and Josephine Zahradnik. He was married to Kathryn for 55 years; she preceded him in death. While living in Meadville, he was a member of St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church.
Vic retired as a Supervisor from PPG after working over 40 years primarily in the Ford City and Meadville plants. He enjoyed watching sports especially baseball, mowing the yard, walking, and spending time with his 2 dogs. Vic loved playing baseball in his younger years. One of his favorite stories was about the game he pitched against Satchel Page and Josh Gibson, when their team in the Negro League came to the Ford City area for a game.
Vic is survived by four children: Raymond Zahradnik, Joyce Ward, Richard Zahradnik, and Robert Zahradnik, seven grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, a sister Josephine Zahradnik, a sister-in-law Dorothy Zahradnik, and numerous nieces, nephews.
In addition to his wife and his parents, Vic was preceded in death by a sister, Mary, and three brothers Frank, Louis and Paul Zahradnik.At the familys request there will be no visitation.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Saturday, February 5, 2011, at St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church, Meadville, with Fr. Mark OHern, Pastor, officiating
Interment will take place in St. Brigid Cemetery, West Mead Twp.
