Victoria Jean Gruber

Victoria Jean (Peterson) Gruber, 62, of Meadville passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on July 8, 2023.

Vicky was born in Franklin, PA on January 31, 1961, daughter of the late Richard and Josephine (Koziara) Peterson.

Vicky graduated from Meadville High School in 1979. After graduation she moved to Colorado. On October 25, 1980, Vicky married Brett Gruber, to whom she was married for 42 years and remained the best of friends. Together they raised three children who were their pride and joy. Vicky had a passion for cooking and worked in several local restaurants including Christopher’s Fine Food and Spirits, which she co-owned with her brother for 7 years. She particularly loved cooking large meals for family and friends. She enjoyed spending time in Florida, especially enjoying a glass of wine by the pool with ocean views. She was an amazing Maama to her 7 grandchildren.

Vicky was known for her generosity and warm and kind spirit. Over the years she volunteered for Hospice of Crawford County and Center for Family Services. She was a people person who enjoyed socializing and giving of herself.

In addition to Brett, Vicky is survived by her three children, Saunja Gruber, Tessa Slayton (Mike) and Christopher Gruber (Audrea); six grandchildren, Blake, Kaden, Isaac, Robert, Cassius, and Eva Jo; five siblings, Linda Gleason (Robert), Julie Peterson, Sue Tome (Tracy), Elizabeth Bronson (Vince) and Christopher Peterson (Kathy) as well as several beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Ian Christopher Gruber.

Family will hold private Celebration of Life at a later date.
