Wesley A. Massey, Sr., 53, of 598 North St., Meadville, passed away Saturday, January 12th, 2013 at UPMC Medical Center, Pittsburgh.
Wesley was born in New Kensington on March 27, 1959, a son of William A. and Mary (Russ) Massey, Jr.
He attended United Faith Fellowship Church, Meadville.
Up until his heath started to fail Wesley was employed as the Facility Maintenance Manager of the Geno J. Merly Veterans Center, Scranton. His previous employers over the years included Lord Corporation, Trinity of Greenville where he had been employed as a foreman, PPG Industries and AMSCO. He attended Vandergrift Jr/Sr. High School and was a 1977 graduate of Meadville High School. Wesley went on to further his education by studying Bio-Medical Electronics at Edinboro College for two years. He was a member of the Bassmasters. His hobbies included hunting, fishing and following all sports.
Wesley is survived by three children Wesley A. Massey, Jr. and his wife Courtney of Saegertown, Alicia Massey-Taylor and her husband Jason of Meadville, Micheal Massey of Scranton, five grandchildren Kelisha Massey, Chanelle Massey, Lola Massey, Micheal Massey, Jr., Isabella Taylor, his parents, William A. and Mary Massey, Jr. of Meadville, a sister Rose Marie Thomas and her former husband Robert of Baton Rouge, LA, a brother Andrew Massey of Meadville, his fiance Joanne Will of Hamilton, Ontario, nieces Rosalyn and Robyn Thomas, Andrea Alabran, Taylor Robinson and Marian Howard.
He was preceded in death by a sister Shirley Massey.
Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville.
A Homecoming Service will be held at United Faith Fellowship Church, 561 State St., Meadville, at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 18th, 2013, with Pastor Berta Newsome Jones officiating.
Interment will take place in Vandergrift Cemetery, Westmoreland County.
