William E. Marceau, Sr.

William E. Marceau, Sr., 83, of 18419 Huson Rd., PO Box 8, Saegertown, passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at Meadville Medical Center.

William was born in Springfield, MA, on January 5, 1930, a son of the late Seraphin L. and Irene Alice (Dennis) Marceau.

On September 3, 1955, William married Kathleen McKeown; she survives.

He was a member of St. Bernadettes Roman Catholic Church, Saegertown.

William retired in 1992 from the former Sunbeam Equipment Corp., now known as Seco-Warwick, where he had been a chemical engineer working with incinerators. He had previously been employed by Sealus Corp. in Philadelphia, and by I.W.I. in New Castle. A veteran, William entered the US Army on November 20, 1953 and served his country honorably until November 19, 1955. William received both his BS Degree and Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering from Villanova University. He was a member of the Meadville Elks. His hobbies included golfing, woodworking, making furniture and he enjoyed doing plumbing as well as electrical work at his home.

In addition to his wife, Kathleen of 57 years, William is survived by two sons William E. Marceau, Jr. and his wife Dawnya of New Castle, Dr. Michael J. Marceau of Williamsport, six grandchildren Melanie Gibbons and her husband John, William Marceau III and his wife Nicole, Patrick Marceau, Mary Marceau, Virginia Marceau, Elizabeth Marceau, seven great grandchildren Dawnya Gibbons, Karl Gibbons, Kathleen Gibbons, Callixtus Gibbons, Xavier Gibbons, William Marceau IV, Gabriel Marceau, two sisters Jane Monteith of Waterbury, CT, Elaine Henneberry and her husband Steven of Florida, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by a brother Louis Marceau.

Family and friends are invited to call on Friday from 4-7 at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 330 Broad St., Saegertown, where a Scripture Service will be conducted at 4:30 PM.

A traditional Latin Requiem Mass will be celebrated at St. Bernadettes Roman Catholic Church, Renner Ave., Saegertown, at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 13, 2013, with Fr. David Poulson, Pastor, officiating.

Interment with Full Military Honors by VFW Post #2006 will take place in St. Agatha Cemetery, West Mead Twp.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Bernadettes Roman Catholic Church, Renner Ave,. Saegertown, PA 16433.
