William E. Runyan, 71, of 19508 Hwy. 6 & 19 Saegertown, passed away Saturday, July 28, 2018, one month after his 49th wedding anniversary. He was at home surrounded by his loving family.
William was born in Cochranton, on February 21, 1947, a son of the late Norman M. and Pearl (Bowser) Runyan.
On June 28, 1969 William married Karon L. Kiser; she survives.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Cambridge Springs.
A graduate of Cochranton High School, William served four years in the US Army. He was a Sergeant and served in Security Instruction. Following his honorable service to our country, he became employed by Seco Warwick and later Meadville Forge. He also sold insurance and investments for Franklin Life Insurance Company. In 1993 he established Runyan Construction where he worked until his illness. He was a member of Saegertown American Legion. William had a passion for helping others and he loved supporting and advancing missionary work. He will be greatly missed.
In addition to his wife Karon, Bill is survived by two sons William E. Runyan II (Tanya), Jason P. Runyan (DeAnna) both of Meadville, Kimberly Sterling of Saegertown, who was like a daughter, five grandchildren Kearstin, Jensen, Madison, Grace, Savannah, four sisters Imogene Kerr (Ray) of Deland, FL, Rosealee Ellis of Ashtabula, OH, Cindy Palesky (David) Gettysburg, Susan Lawton (Randy) New Castle, several nieces, nephews and his favorite companion, Mia, his Pomeranian poodle.
In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by a sister Mary Gibson and an infant brother Norman Christopher Runyan.
Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday, August 12, 2018, from 2-3 PM. at First Baptist Church of Cambridge Springs, 339 S. Main St., Cambridge Springs where a Memorial Service will follow at 3 PM with Rev. Rod Beardsley, Pastor, officiating. Full Military Honors by WFW Post #2006 will be held.
