William P. Teasdale, 80, of 668 Davenport St., Meadville, passed away Thursday, January 5, 2017 at Wesbury United Methodist Community.
William was born in Meadville, on November 5, 1936, a son of the late Arnold and R. Arlene (Hill) Teasdale.
On July 10, 1992, William married Diana Garnavish; she survives. He had previously been married to Shirley Beatty and Ellen Mansfield.
In November, 1998, William retired as a locomotive engineer from Conrail, previously known as Erie Lackawanna Railroad, with 42 years of service. On March 8, 1955 he entered the US Army and served his country honorably as an armored tank mechanic until his discharge on March 7, 1957. He was a 1954 graduate of Meadville High School and a member of the Meadville Club. An avid reader, William enjoyed working crossword puzzles and looked forward to hunting season each year.
In addition to his wife, Diana, of 24 years, William is survived by four children Jeffrey P. Teasdale of Murraysville, Penny L. Teasdale of Sarasota, FL, Kimberlie A. Bovard and her husband Don of Meadville, Keri S. Miller and her husband Marvin of Cochranton, three grandchildren, two great grandchildren, a brother Donald M. Teasdale and his wife Susan of Star Valley Ranch, WY.
In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by an infant sister, Gloria.
Private services will be held.
William will be laid to rest in Greendale Cemetery, West Mead Twp.
