Winfred 'Claw' Morris Burnett, 63, of Florence, SC, formerly of Meadville, passed away Friday, May 10th, 2013 following an illness.

Winfred was born in Zebulon, GA on March 4, 1950, a son of the late K. C. and Ida Ruth Burnett.

He married Mamie L. Burnett; she survives.

Winfred was employed as a Lead Lineman by APAC of Carolina. He had previously been employed as a machinist by Union Carbide. He enjoyed refurbishing furniture and home renovating. Winfred will be remembered as a hardworking man. He was an awesome husband, a wonderful father and grandfather. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his loving wife, Mamie, of 37 years, Winfred is survived by his children Andre E. Cathy of Erie, Lamar Slonski of Youngstown, OH, Meisha Williamson of Bronx, NY, Dana Williamson Salters and her husband Rasheem of Florence, SC, 14 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, six brothers Eddie Joe Burnett, Melville Gene Burnett, Marvin Burnett and his wife Debbie, Robert L. Burnett all of Meadville, Wayne Burnett and his wife Connie of Erie, Marshall Burnett and his wife Jody P. of Massachusetts, four sisters Betty Jenkins of Harrisburg, Melissa Burnett of Meadville, Melinda Brown and her husband Ross, Millicent Burnett both of Pittsburgh, a special niece Sherry Lynn Burnett McClendon, two special nephews Jeffrey Michael Burnett, Kenny Burnett, a host of other nieces and nephews that he loved dearly, aunts, cousins and friends.

In addition to his parents, Winfred was preceded in death by a son Jermaine Wynn, a grandson Raheem Williamson, a great granddaughter DeKiyah Graham, three sisters Elizabeth Burnett, Anna Ruth Smith and Janelle Burnett Brown.

Family and friends are invited to call on Friday from 6-9 at St. John Missionary Full Gospel Baptist Church, 792 N. Main St., Meadville, where a Homecoming Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 18th, with Bishop Stanley Smith, Pastor, officiating.

Interment will take place in Greendale Cemetery, West Mead Twp.

Arrangements are under the direction of Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville.
