Winifred "Winnie" B. Harroun

Winifred "Winnie" B. Harroun, 88, of 31 N. Park Ave., Meadville, passed away Thursday, July 30, 2015, at Meadville Medical Center.

Winnie was born in Atlantic City, NJ on January 24, 1927, a daughter of the late C. Arthur and Virginia (Whitling) Battles.

In 1947 Winnie married Terry C. Harroun; he preceded her in death in 1990.

A 1946 graduate of Meadville High School, Winnie attended Toledo College. She was employed as Personnel Manager for K-Mart in Maumee, OH, for twenty years. A true dog lover, Winnie was a proud and loving dog owner to numerous dogs during her life. She enjoyed reading, watching television, following the Cleveland Brown and buying gadget gifts for all of her nieces and nephews. She will be missed.

Winnie is survived by a sister Joanna Peters Watson and her husband Dave, a half sister Charlotte Shorts and her husband Frank both of Meadville, two nephews Doug Peters and his wife Jackie of Conneaut Lake, Jeff Peters and his wife Janet of Meadville, five grand nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husband of 43 years, Winnie was preceded in death by a brother Charles Battles.

Services will be private and held at the convenience of family.

Winnie will be laid to rest next to her husband in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Vernon Twp.
